About TakaQuiz

Take a quiz on anything you're studying — and keep taking the ones you got wrong.

TakaQuiz turns your own material — typed notes, a PDF chapter, a photo of a textbook page, an article — into a practice quiz, then brings back the questions you miss until you know them. The name is “take a quiz”, said quickly.

What it is built on

The design follows research on how people actually remember things, rather than how they prefer to study:

  • Retrieval practice. Answering from memory beats re-reading, even when the re-reading feels more productive (Roediger & Karpicke, 2006; Dunlosky et al., 2013).
  • Question types that make you retrieve. Fill-ins and short answers first; multiple choice only with distractors that could be true (Kang, McDermott & Roediger, 2007; Little et al., 2012).
  • Spacing and successive relearning. A missed question returns after 1, 3, 7 and 14 days, and counts as learned only after three correct answers on separate days (Rawson & Dunlosky, 2011; Cepeda et al., 2008).
  • Confidence and hypercorrection. You say how sure you are before you see the answer; confident mistakes are the ones that stick best once corrected, so they come first (Metcalfe, 2017).
  • Answers you can check. Every answer shows the line in your material it came from. The AI writes the questions; you keep the final say.

What it is not

It is not a library of other people's quizzes, and it does not promise accuracy. Questions are generated by an AI model from the text you give it, and that text can be misread. The source line is there so you can see when it was.

Who it is for

University students and adult learners preparing for exams: coursework, professional certifications, language tests, licensing exams. TakaQuiz is for people aged 18 and over.

Who runs it

TakaQuiz is an independent product of Fiveupclub Inc (Wyoming, USA), the same small company behind a few other focused tools. It is not affiliated with any school, publisher or exam board.
